Cupcakes A-Z: Z is for..

Zelda!

Specifically, Zelda Ocarina of Time cupcakes.

However, before I go there... let's pause guys. This is my last letter! Alphabet DONE! It also happens to be my wedding eve as I sit here and type this. It is just after midnight where I live and as soon as I can stop acting like I am a four year old on Christmas Eve... maybe I can even get some sleep.

Big days are always hard to settle down for and, as far as I can recall in the history of me to date... this is my biggest day yet. Plus, my wedding is going to be so much fun! So much to be wired and excited for!

Sleep is overrated, ha.

And on that note. Resuming now. Zelda.

I created a nice little group of cupcakes using icing and then the chocolate/wax paper technique for some of the 3D effects.

We have...

The Triforce cupcake! (Gandolph, Link, Zelda... or Power, Courage, Wisdom)

Esquire, myself, and a dear friend of ours have a thing about the triforce. Love the image representation above...

Ocarina cupcake! (For those of you who don't know, an Ocarina is a wind instrument used in the game to create actions).

Best song on the Ocarina? Epona's Song. Linked here in all it's video game twang.

Navi cupcake!

A lil' fairy side kick to Link in Ocarina of Time.

Generally, people found her annoying but I thought she was adorable.

As a little girl playing Ocarina of Time on my n64 with my brothers... it was my job to think the fairy was badass.

I tried to make my fairy cupcake the appropriate amounts of sparkle.

I really loved this cupcake.

Master Sword cupcake!!!

Same technique as I mentioned. Piped white chocolate into the shape and then painted with food dye. I wish this didn't look so streaky...

It works though I suppose. I like it with Navi...

And that's it. My Zelda collection. It doesn't do the entire Zelda universe justice but that is pretty difficult as Zelda may well be the best video game series of all time.

And out of those, what is the best Zelda game? Ocarina of Time. Always and forever.

GLORIOUS!

Yay, N64 graphics :)

And that's a wrap! All the Zelda cupcakes, all the alphabet cupcakes, and just under the wire! I am a Mrs. in the morning!

Ending on Zelda makes me particularly pleased as Esquire proposed using a Zelda game's screen. With this newest push to wrap up before the wedding, it seems like everything has just come perfectly together.

As described in this post, it was a truly beautiful geek moment. Excerpt below. As well as a pic of us which, as I said before, is something new I will continue to try to do here on this blog. No pictures of myself was a silly policy anyway.

"He proposed on our anniversary, filling the first floor of our house with candles and flowers. When I came down the stairs to all the lights and sparkling and flowers, I immediately started to cry and squeaked out "NOW?!"

He then launched into a truly lovely speech about the impact I've made on his life, how I'm the only one for him, etc. etc. While I was rapidly starting to cry MORE, our dog decided he wasn't getting enough attention and started to bark.

Both of us started cracking up. Esquire continued his flowery speech and turned on the TV and written on the main Zelda screen was "Marry Me".
That's right. My man is both romantic as hell and a complete geek. He also is extremely thoughtful- since we live pretty daggum far away from both sets of parents (closest set is 8 hours, next is 14 hours), he had them write me/us letters saying how supportive they are of us and how excited they are for us that we could open just after I said yes.

I know. He's perfect. I am truly blessed to have found someone who is my perfect match in every way."

I can't think of a better way to end the alphabet and begin the next adventure. Thank you all for reading and supporting me through not just these letters but this entire process that has been my life as of late.

You guys are the best :)

I am off to get some sleep! WEDDING!
